My school has worked to develop a robust and purposeful focus on technology as project-based learning, rather than using apps as babysitters. My kindergartners are anxious to improve their digital literacy and to create vibrant products to demonstrate their learning. For example, they'd like to show off their knowledge from Readers Workshop by taking photos of their characters and recording their voices to show what the characters might say and sound like. In order to do so with ease, and to minimize classroom disruptions while doing so, we need high-quality headphones with recording capabilities. We also hope to increase family engagement by creating digital portfolios of student work to share instantly and receive feedback. We hope to boost the sophistication of our reflections, for example, by filming the projects we've completed and recording our voices reflecting upon them. Please consider helping us augment the systems we have in place. We'd love to insert more student voice into the flow of our day, and share what we've captured with families.
