I teach in a Title 1 school in South Carolina! My students are great and very enthusiastic. One thing that our area has not done a great job of is exposing them to different cultures and their music. As I stated earlier, most of my children have never heard a steel pan drum band live OR on a recording. We will be doing a music and culture unit this year, and I would love to expose my students (76% which are at or below the poverty level)to the steel pan drum.
