Many of my students qualify for all assignments and assessments to be read aloud to them or played through an audio device across all subject areas. At the end of the fifth grade year, they will take the VA SOLs which are given in an audio format. Currently, I have no way of providing an audio format due to limited resources throughout my school. Having assignments being read aloud by an adult throughout the year and then receiving an end of the year assessment in an electronic, computer-generated audio version can affect a student's success. I would like to provide a method of audio testing to best match the assessment experience that my students undergo when taking the VA Standards of Learning to ensure they have the best chance of success.
