My fourth graders love to read, collaborate, and solve real world problems. They are creative, social, and energetic learners. These students actively listen to their peers and build upon each other's ideas. They are given the freedom to group and regroup to complete tasks. However, my standard classroom desks limit them. Precious minutes of instructional time are lost each day to sliding desks back and forth and gathering supplies that have fallen due to the movement. I am seeking funding to purchase flexible seating options. Research has proven flexible seating increases student engagement, improves core strength and overall posture, and allows better oxygen flow to the brain. Please consider helping my 21st century learners reach their fullest potentials by providing them the 21 century tools they need.
