To read is to learn. While I love the classics, I want more for my students. We are located in a poor school district that gets little funding for new books. The addition of these books to my classroom will enrich my current students as well as every student that follows them. I want my students to see that literature can be vibrant, interesting, and most importantly, relevant to them. This class set of modern classics will help my student see the world outside their classroom. They will be able to go beyond the headlines and the clinical argumentative papers of social issues and experience *life* through these award winning books.
