I teach a middle school Life Skills class in a lower income area. This is a brand new program to my district and I am so excited to assist in building this much-needed resource to keep our students in their local school district. My four students are predominantly cognitively impaired and busy with the work of preparing for their lives beyond the classroom. Our class reinforces functional academic skills, and teaches vital life skills such as health/hygiene, community resources, safety, household tasks, and pre-vocational tasks.
