Light tables are an excellent source of visual input sensory. Children are naturally drawn to the glow of the table and are often calmed by the visual stimulation as they explore. Toys look different with light below them, colors are more vivid, and we can discover details in nature. We currently have a small board that doesn't always work and not very bright! I think the children would love this table and the sensory materials, tracing tiles and X-rays that go with it. We will also experiment with making our own manipulatives. It would be a new way to introduce counting, sorting, and patterning. The ideas are endless when using a light table!
