I am a newly credentialed second-year kindergarten teacher in a Title-1 school. The student population is extremely diverse, most of which come from low-income families. They not only deal with the challenges of living in a borderline impoverished environment, they must also overcome the challenges of learning while dealing with these hardships. The reality is many of these students are against the odds of ever graduating. However, I feel it is my responsibility to give each and every one of them the chance to learn and be successful. Each day they show me their desire and eagerness, which causes me to want to do more, teach more, and be every bit of a positive influence in their lives. My mindset is simple; every student deserves the same opportunities for an education!

About my class
