Hi! I am an ESL teacher and I love what I do! I work in a special program called the Newcomers Program. The students in my program are level one ESL students and are all first in country. They come form various countries across the world and from various situations. The program is designed to help these children get a basic knowledge of American culture and American schools. They learn everything from letter recognition and sound to writing basic stories and math skills. We go on several field trips (I call them adventures!) to give the students as much exposure to different things as possible. I love working with this exceptional group of children. They are eager to learn English and all about America while sharing their culture with me. These children have reminded me why I got into teaching in the first place and are a true inspiration.
