Close your eyes, what does your perfect reading spot look like? I want to create a warm and comfortable space for my students. Currently there are 32 students in my class. We have a period in the day where students Drop Everything and Read. During our daily reading block, students have a choice to sit somewhere other than their desk while they are independently reading their books. They love the freedom of being able to choose a spot to read. It would be so nice for students to have a carpet square to sit on instead of the cold tile. Carpet squares would help them define their personal space and keep them warm, especially during the winter.
