Often books get returned with bookmarks still in place and I am continually amazed by the artwork on these handmade bookmarks! I will host a monthly bookmark contest where students are invited to create a bookmark to submit for voting. Using the printer and cardstock paper, a copy of the winning bookmark will be provided for each elementary student! I will laminate five of the winning bookmarks for the student who created it, so they can keep them as a memento or share them with family members. By having a monthly book mark contests in my elementary library, students can use their creativity to design a bookmark and then see their winning creation produced for the entire school to use! The monthly bookmark contest will encourage creativity as well as bring another level of excitement to visiting the library to submit and vote for the creations!
