Children with special needs (autism, sensory challenges) often have a difficult time with different aspects of their environment (sounds, touch, what they see) and how their internal system is processing these inputs. Allowing children the opportunity to explore a variety of materials (water beads, sand, water, art materials) that help them adjust to these different sensations will assist them in accessing their educational environment so that can be more engaged and interactive in their own learning. I love watching them as they experiment and explore new sensory discoveries and look forward to being able to share this opportunity with my students
