My students will be gathering on this rug for morning meeting, reading stories and working on group projects. They will work as a group for lessons and activities. This will promote a sense of community. Each child's specific personal space will help them have a positive learning experience while being together as a whole group. It is important for students to know they have their own space on the carpet, so they can concentrate on their learning. Also, within the whole group, having a sense of belonging to a classroom community helps them become more confident and self assured. This could be especially supportive to students who have specific learning needs.
