My students have independent reading time each day, yet they don't always enjoy it because of the book selection available to them. Unfortunately, the school library can't keep enough high interest books in stock for all the students. We use technology to read books online, but nothing can replace having a physical book in their hands. My students love graphic novels and I need more in my classroom library. If the students had open access to these books their independent reading time would be much more enjoyable. I am anxious to see my students get lost in a book and I think graphic novels could be the key to this happening!
