I want to purchase a document camera for my classroom. The document camera will be used on a daily basis to project images to the entire class in an efficient manner. Students will place their classwork under the camera to show to the class while explaining their work and thought process. I will place materials under the document camera when I need to show the class something quickly without making an overhead transparency, or when I need the students to observe me doing or writing something in real time. The document camera will help support the curriculum by allowing more material to be presented in an effective and efficient way. It will help make the classroom more student-centered by aiding students in the presentation and explanation of their work in a timely fashion. By placing their work under the camera, they save valuable class time that would have otherwise been dedicated to the students re-copying their work on the board.
