These Chromebooks will be used for interactive lessons as well as for live time assessment. Students will follow along with the day’s lesson on a website called Nearpod which allows students to answer questions, draw pictures, and collaborate with peers during the lesson on their individual device. Students love using the devices because they can take ownership of their learning! They love being able to collaborate with peers and see their answers and drawings appear on the Smartboard in the front of the room. The answers are then saved to the program giving me an immediate assessment. They will help me identify struggling and advanced learners so I can differentiate the day’s lesson in small groups to keep students encouraged and engaged. We will also take virtual field trips with the devices! These devices will help make our classroom more student-centered and ultimately more rigorous and more fun!
