For years I have worked to build an extensive classroom library. However, there are still lots of great, age-appropriate novels out there that I do not have in my classroom. The goal of this project is to continue to build this library so all of my students will have access to age-appropriate books they'll enjoy. I am asking for copies of nineteen different books including Sold, Monster, and Five Flavors of Dumb. Reading for pleasure for at least 20 minutes per day is the best way to build a love of reading and a culture of literacy. In my class, I always make sure that my students have the opportunity to read for 20 minutes. It's my goal to help them build their love of reading by providing them with great novels, so that they will always have something to choose from that suits their interests and abilities.
