I have taught as a special education teacher for several years. For the 2018-2019 school, I will be exclusively co-teaching in the general education classroom to meet my students' needs. In the past, because of limited resources and high demands, my on-the-go instruction often requires data to fall on the wayside. Incorporating technology would create a quicker way for me to take and track data and instantly tailor instruction based on individual students' needs. A tablet would allow for instantaneous data to be taken when traveling from classroom to classroom, and create opportunities for direct instruction based on data. The case would protect the tablet from everyday wear and tear. By funding this project, donors would directly impact students' daily instruction. Additionally, progress data would become more accurate. Ultimately, this would improve students' individualized education plans and help to bridge the gap between special education students and their general education peers.
