My students need time to be flexible, creative, and practice working as a team. I have started Morning Tubs in my classroom this year, and I am asking for some help filling them. So far, my first graders are loving them! They have started thinking outside the box with the materials. Base 10 pieces are logs and towers. Snap cubes are flowers, horses, and people. Magnetic blocks are the shapes we are learning in math. Student walk in the door excited to get started. Morning tubs have minimized our morning routine. Students are engaged right away and don't hesitate to make lunch choices, turn in homework, or head to breakfast. They do all these things in a snap, because they know they won't be able to do a Morning Tub otherwise. After creating, laughing, thinking, and working as a team, my students come to the carpet and are ready to learn. It's been a great way to begin our day! I'm asking for help filling these Tubs with different activities that will engage my students throughout the year. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
