I teach some of the most amazing, hard-working, talented students - students who desire to change the world around them by starting with themselves...and a solid education. I teach 7th-grade Algebraic Thinking. Next year, I am moving up with my students to 8th grade to teach them Algebra I. All of my students are students of color; a significant portion of them will be the first in their families to attend college. They have made a brave choice to commit to a longer school day (7AM to 5PM) and school year (two Saturdays per month and two weeks during the summer in addition to the regular school year) in order to achieve their goal of a college education and a better life.
