My students love to have a rich selection of books to choose from during independent reading time. I strive to include student voice in many classroom decisions, and the students have expressed the desire to have more graphic novel choices included in the classroom library. With these new graphic novels, my students will be able to choose a variety of books of interest that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level. The best way to become a fluent reader is to read, and these graphic novels will engage many of the students with the act of reading. This project will be an effortless way to enhance the joy of reading while helping the students to become better readers.
