Students should be able to learn in a setting that works for them. Flexible seating gives students the option to take take charge of their learning and choose how they learn best. Using choice seating such as seat cushions, working on the floor, or standing at a desk, has already yielded amazing results in which I can see my students actively engaged and enjoying learning. Different students have different needs and preferences, which is why I have chosen a few different options for flexible seating. The wobble chairs are for students who need some movement during learning. The balance chairs and balls will be beneficial for students who sit at lower desks and still require some movement. The balance balls will also serve as safe spot chair for those students who need to take some time to think quietly or talk to a teacher but need a choice of movement. Letting students make choices for their learning, instills in them the power they need to take charge in their learning. Small choices can lead to huge postivite changes!
