These materials will truly help my students. All of my students receive special education services and most are diagnosed with ADHD. You can only imagine what my classroom looks like. The wiggle seat and exercise balls will allow students to continuously move during a lesson, but also focus on what is occurring during the lesson and in the classroom. They can wiggle and write at the same time! In a Title 1 school, limited resources impact all students but especially those with higher needs. The small fidgets listed allow students to be included and participate in the general education classroom, without becoming a distraction to those around them. The materials will benefit the needs of my students. Both the wiggle seat and the exercise balls allow the students to continuously move around and let out energy without becoming a distraction. The more energy that my students let out, the less likely they are to become a behavior issue. The seats will be used in my special education classroom so that students can wiggle and still do work. Wiggling while working helps the students stay on task which is especially hard for my students diagnosed with ADHD. The small fidgets will be used in both the special education classroom and general education classroom. These small fidgets allow the special education students to be included in the general education classroom. Again, the fidgets allow students to continuously move therefore stay on task and progress academically. Thank you for considering this project. It is very appreciated!
