Giving students choices such as standing, laying down, bouncing a bit while they are working, etc. these all healthier options for kids. There is a lot of research that shows that children learn better while they are moving. Right now it is very hard for my students to stay focus for a long time. Having flexible seating will help students stay focus longer so I can teach for a longer amount of time and students will stay engaged. One thing I have notice is that my students are not comfortable in the chairs that are provided for them, and it is very easy for them to fall. This is a safety problem. Students have fallen backwards, forwards and have gotten their feet stuck in these chairs. These chairs provide no movement at all. My students like to get under their desk or on the floor to do their independent work but I am needing flexible stools for whole group and small group instruction. The wobble stools will allow students alternative seating for whole and small group instruction. These stools are very beneficial so students can stay focus and engage while instruction is taking place. Many flexible seating options stimulate students sense of touch. This type of stimulation can help children focus and process information. Sensory input is especially helpful for students with ADHD, ADD, and ASD. It is all about students getting the tools they need to be successful. I think these stool would benefit them a lot. I put my students and their learning first when I come to work, these stool would not only improve the flow of the class , still allow kids to move around while staying at their desk, and they would still maintain all the focus they need to get all their work done.
