Students have been wanting fun rainy day games/activities during rainy day schedule or free time when they want to hang out in the classroom at lunch. They voted on these games (Sorry, Operation, Uno, Jenga, Candyland, Puzzles, etc) that they really hope to get their hands on! Our students have been wishing for more supplies and support to make learning even more exciting. We definitely want to incorporate more art in the classroom, so I am hoping the water color sets, markers/crayons, glue sticks, paper can excite students with art! They also voted to create a classroom library with comfortable bean bag chairs and stuffed animals to make reading more relaxing and enjoyable. We are hoping to create a corner for them to read in! We need extra supplies to help with daily learning such as post its, notebooks, dry erase markers because all of our material has been running out. Students have difficulty supplying their own things, so we are hoping to receive some extra help. With all of these supplies, we need storage containers for students to organize and efficiently get their material. I also need personal organization for student work/files so the portable filing basket will be extra helpful for me to keep all of my students' records. For science and math, we are hoping to be more hands-on with our experiments and observations. We want to use the beakers, scale and graduated cylinders for measurement and rocks/minerals to use for observation skills. Our 3rd grade science standard is all about force, so there are a lot of fun activities with magnets we can use for students to engage in! Our students definitely need more support in their math number sense, so the place value set and the card games will be extra help!
