My class is in a portable right now with a cooler with paper cones to drink from. One, those cones are a one time use and then thrown away, so, using reusable water bottles would help reduce the amount of trash, and reduce the need for those cones, which saves our school money. Nalgene is a very good brand that doesn't break and is BPA free. Also, it has a lid, so the water won't spill. The canvas shoe container is a way to store the water bottles in the classroom so it isn't in the way of learning, and it isn't made of plastic which is also bad for the environment. This is all for the environment and teaching the students that it takes small choices to get the Earth in the right direction! I want them to also understand that thinking about alternatives to their every day choices will help the environment.
