My students are excited about the opportunity to have technology in our classroom. They will be able to use the requested tablets during specialized learning in both math and literacy centers. Tablets can help students stay engaged through fun academic games, targeting to their individual needs. During math centers, students will use the tablets on applications like SplashMath or Prodigy. During literacy rotations students practice spelling on Spelling City or listening to stories on RazKids or Storyline. Using technology will allow me to teach both literacy and math in rotations, giving me more time to work with students in smaller groups. Not only can these tablets be used to target individual students' learning goals, they can also be utilized for research in writing, science, and social studies. Currently during writing my class is writing about expert topics. These tablets will give student's the access to websites like PBS Kids and National Geographic.
