I currently do not have any modern children's books in my room. I do not have any non-fiction books. I have six sixth grade students in a reading group with only five books in every set. My third-sixth students need fun, interesting and new books, books they want to talk about with friends outside of class. And most importantly, they all need to have a book! These books will allow us to do peer-assisted reading clubs where everybody reads out loud with support from myself and their peers; and feels success while reading! The interesting books will lead to a passion for reading fiction and non-fiction!
