Our school has historically always struggled with budgeting. Although we just built a new High School, our middle school was built in the 70's, at the bottom of a mountain and is slowly sinking into the ground. As a new teacher at the school, I have already seen the effects of having limited technology in the school. Students are anxious, restless, impatient because the they are used to an instant gratification type of lifestyle, a lifestyle technology plays a huge role in. It is no secret that technology is a fantastic resource in any school, so why not incorporate it into the music classroom? Using the twenty requested midi keyboards in my classroom will not only keep my students engaged but also introduce them to the modern music world.
