Students are performing a concert called "Rock Around the Clock." They are learning songs from the 20th Century and performing them through dance, costuming, and singing. The black canes are needed to dance to "Puttin' on the Ritz." Through performance, students will apply knowledge of special genres within the 20th Century: dance, music, and fashion. I have a strong performing arts background and plan to continue to get my students on stage to learn about different time periods and gain confidence in themselves and each other. Performing together builds a sense of community at our school and engages all in the learning process.

About my class
