The addition of an aquarium to our classroom with be a non traditional asset which will teach both responsibility and empathy. Students will feel a sense of responsibility and accomplishment in caring for something that brings joy to both themselves and the class. They will be assigned tasks in which they will have active roles in caring for our class friend. Caring for something or someone who is helpless without your care will undoubtedly teach students to be emphatic toward that being. This will carry onto the real world and create children that care for and look out for one another.
