In the state of North Carolina, third-grade reading is one of the most stressful and critical years in students' reading development. Guided reading groups and differentiated instruction are key aspects to ensuring that students meet third-grade expectations. By providing flexible seating, students can work in centers and peer groups around the room finding a space that is comforting to them. My students are visibly engaged and less anxious when they can be in a location of choice that provides them comfort and peace of mind. The products I have chosen will allow my students to make responsible decisions in their own education. The seats allow them to relax and feel comfortable while still maintaining a sense of structure.
