Flexible seating is the gateway to successful 21st-century learning in the classroom. Between the ages of 7 and 8, my students have endless energy and a need for flexibility, movement, while also being comfortable in the classroom. My goal for the school year is to ease away from a "traditional learning" environment with eliminating most of my desks. My students yearn for choices, flexibility, comfort, and a sense of home in the classroom. Flexible seating furniture will be used for group and independent reading time, math groups, small group instruction, and for the students who need room to wiggle and in general, a different form of seating. With your ever generous donation, my students will have these opportunities to feel comfortable, successful and excited to learn. Not only will a flexible seating design provide comfort for my students, it caters to the different needs of different types of learners.
