Providing students with engaging books at their reading level inspires confidence and, as a result, encourages more reading! Fostering a love of reading is a major goal of our kindergarten curriculum. The guided reading science library provides both individual and small group reading opportunities and introduces students to non-fiction text as a means of exploring the world around them. The wide range of subject matter is sure to inspire my little scientists. I chose the emergent readers D set to challenge my readers who are ready to read more challenging books. Surrounding kindergarten readers with books that are at their reading level builds confidence and promotes more reading.
