This literature set provide the essential and shared understanding of diverse human perspectives and experiences. Our students will be able to choose from a wide range of texts centered on the theme of "Stories of Change." Our students truly want to feel connected to the lives of others. These books will augment our class culture of empathetic, caring, compassionate, and informed community citizens. These stories will be the springboards for excellent and critical classroom conversations about topics that matter to young people. From these novels and stories, our students will be able to inquire further into topics such as acceptance, anti-bullying, immigration, refugees, and the development of self and connection to others.
