I am requesting whisper phones so that my students can hear themselves read without interrupting others. Many of my students are struggling with using an appropriate voice level during guided and independent reading. These phones will help them learn how to whisper because they will hear their voice in the phone and realize when it is too loud. It will also help my students to think about the meaning of what they are reading because they will hear what they are saying and notice if it does not make sense. The whisper phones will make independent reading a much more successful time for my students.
