My students need an organized library. Learning to read in kindergarten is a skill that my students are so excited to learn. They ask me on the first day of school when they will learn to read and are fascinated with books. We are so lucky to have many books for our classroom but we don't have any way to display them or organize them in a library. These books shelves, bins and display case will allow my students to easily find books to look at and eventually read on their own. It is so important for students to have access to books even before they can read. One of the first steps of reading is looking at pictures and making up a story to go along with those pictures. Kids love to do this and once they are able to recognize letter sounds, they are able to easily sound out words and read. This library system will allow my students freedom to easily choose books and encourage their new reading skills. Students in kindergarten show so much growth during this important year of school. This library will help us stay organized so we can spend our time reading and learning instead of searching for a book in a pile.
