I am a Reading Recovery teacher and Title One Literacy Interventionists in a Pre-K - 6th grade Elementary School in rural Maine. Our school has a diverse population and all teachers work very hard to create a safe, nurturing, highly engaging learning environment for all children. In my role my primary focus is on helping kindergarten and first grade students develop reading and writing skills. On average I work with 15 kindergarten students and 15 first graders during the school year. I give the students who struggle the most extra time, support and encouragement with both reading and writing.
