This year our school is implementing AVID learning strategies school wide. These strategies help students be more successful in their learning process and increase their learning skills complexity to achieve their learning goals. AVID support writing skills through the use of Cornell note-taking, Learning logs, quick-writes and reflections, the process of writing and authentic writing. Using their writing journals, students will be able to think about themselves as amazing authors. Becoming a life-long writer will help them to develop express themselves throughout the writing. Reaching out to the world to make a difference with their writing. It's amazing to see how many people have changed their ways just because of something they read. Reading is power but to be able to read first need to be written.

About my class
