Our 6th grade classroom services general and special education students in Muskegon, MI. We have a classroom of 24 students, and 2 certified teachers. These students come from a variety of backgrounds, but the majority have had some sort of trauma in their short lives. This trauma affects their self esteem and we must work hard to get them to a growth mindset. It is our goal to give them every opportunity to have positive learning experiences at school. Providing these experiences is crucial to our students learning and growth during the school year. Even though we are an urban school, we have technology in our classrooms available for everyday student use. It is our goal to have a paperless classroom, and this requires extra tools for our students to be successful. If our students are to be successful in the ever changing world of technology, we must be prepared to teach them 21st century skills.

About my class
