The students love to read and tell about their native countries (or their parent's home countries), and we all enjoy asking questions to learn more about their wonderful and different cultures and/or religions. Childhood experiences and feelings are more alike than different. Children can bond faster when they engage and explore the differences. While they have their questions answered, they will accept the ELL student quickly and without reservation. My classes develop into a big, secondary family with all the joys, struggles and celebrations throughout the year. It's a blast! We will use the rug and bean bags to share all our stories as we learn from each other. My students are in need of a reading rug, bean bags and two mobile bookcases in our classroom to create a comfy, cozy and organized area for reading. These supplies will make reading engaging, comfortable, and exciting for students. Bean bags and a reading rug will provide comfort that is greatly needed. Having books on display on the bookcase will give students easier access to the genres we are working on. The rug will be used as a space where students can gather to talk about their feelings and their reading. I want it to also be a space where they can lie down with a good book and enjoy reading.
