These materials will help my students build their fine motor skills by working with small pieces to put them together to create something. They will also be building fine motor skills by using dough to create letters and objects. I am asking for building bricks because they are a great way to get the kids ready for the day when we use them for morning work. They can come in and sit down and get their brains going in the morning by building new structures. This also applies for the K'Nex pieces. They will be used as a way to get the students engaged first thing in the morning. Play is really important in kindergarten so I love to find things that can tie into the curriculum but also be a source of play for my class. The dough and letter stamps will also help them practice fine motor skills and literacy skills. The more practice they get with their letters, the more confident they will become with them. Kindergarten engineers is a way to engage my students in STEM activities and get them hands-on experiences. My students love to be hands-on and build things. I love to be able to see their minds at work figuring out how they are going to get something to work the way they want it to. They also learn a lot about teamwork and cooperation through building as a group.
