This project will make a difference in the lives of my elementary students and their learning by giving them an outdoor learning space where we can minimize our risk for spreading COVID-19 and where students can continue learning. An outdoor learning space will help keep our resource classroom in person by helping minimize our transmission risk and keep our school open as the Delta variant surges. Students will do most of their Math, Language Arts and Enrichment Activities outside when the weather permits, underneath carport canopies that will cover some of my classroom furniture and materials as well as the requested whiteboard. This will be located in an ample courtyard in the middle of our school building that is never utilized and is a perfect place for creative exploration. I hope to improve learning outcomes as students will be more relaxed, and the fresh air will stimulate their thinking and excitement.
