Most of the children in my class are very good readers, but they still enjoy listening to some one else reading to them. They all love books and they enjoy the different stories they hear. Studies show that a child's listening comprehension, verbal language skills, and overall reading ability can be improved by listening to many different voices reading to them. A listening center would give them, not just the teacher, but many different voices to learn from. They will also be able to practice their listening skills during math time with the Math Listening materials. This will help increase their verbal understanding of different math concepts.
