My students are currently using a program called Unique Learning. This program gives students an opportunity to learn from a curriculum in the classroom that is geared towards students with intellectual learning disabilities. Students are currently using the program with printouts/worksheets from the site due to the lack of technology in our classrooms. To fully utilize the full extent of the program, students need to use laptops to access the curriculum. The program works best for students when they can create an account for themselves and monitor their progress. The class set of laptops will allow each of the students an opportunity to create an account to gain a better understanding of their curriculum. The program comes with a wide variety of books and lessons that students are not able to access without a computer. This will then increase learning in students with intellectual disabilities, increase knowledge of the world around them, and give them an opportunity to access all curriculum and services needed for them to be well-rounded adults.
