My Sisters Keeper is a mentoring group but they also believe in giving back. When discussing the service project the girls felt like they could influence middle school girls. They chose to use literature written by BIPOC women. These books will be added to the schools library and the girls will also put together a presentation for their administration team about the importance of implementing a culturally responsive curriculum. This project is about empowering BIOPIC girls to embrace their stories by reading/hearing the stories of others that look like them.
