My students need phonics based chapter books to further their reading instruction. They need the books to follow researched based progression of phonics skills. The students in my class will get to enjoy books that have a story and go along with the skills they are learning right now. Every kid loves a great story. Graphic novels make it so that even kids who struggle with reading get to enjoy the story line. My students often struggle with finding books that are really fun to read. I want to give them some choices to help them want to read everyday.
