I teach at a Title I school where none of my students can afford to purchase or rent their own instruments. I have students sharing instruments which means they don't always get to take their instrument home to practice. If I had an additional alto sax, all of my altos would be able to have their own and practice at home every day. I have almost no percussion instruments or accessories. Having almost no percussion instruments makes it incredibly difficult to play any piece of music. Not having the right stands and equipment to put what little we do have on makes things even more difficult because we run the risk of damaging things if we can't use them properly. My percussionists will be able to play their music and not damage their instruments if we have the proper equipment in the classroom.
