As a first year teacher, this contribution will not only impact my kindergarteners this year, but for many years to come. My students spend a great deal of time joining me in the floor for morning meetings, interactive read alouds, mini lessons, whole group activities, afternoon meetings, and brain breaks to name a few of the many activities we do together throughout the day. Having a classroom rug in our classroom will not only teach students about personal space but will also cut down on transition time when moving from table work space to the floor! Having the alphabet on the rug will only further my students' exploration of letters and letter sounds during their kindergarten experience!

About my class
