Have you ever walked into a a place that automatically gave off a calm, and comfortable vibe? That is what I aim to help my students feel. There's significant research shows how flexible seating positively impacts student learning and supports students with ADHD, which is why I am working towards having a flexible classroom. Given that over 70% of my students are at-risk, I am looking to improve my classroom culture and atmosphere by using flexible seating to transform it into a place my students want to be, not have to be. In addition, with a new role this new school year as primarily a reading teacher, I would like to include diverse books that will help foster a love for reading into my students, some of which did not grow up being read to or have a basis of reading. When children find a love for reading, it will transform their imaginations and help them to succeed in their future years in school.
